The Devil's Weakness
She met him over a business deal. She had a company to build, a life to live, and absolutely no intention of becoming a part of a man like him. He had a name people feared, a world that obeyed him, and a peculiar problem he couldn't seem to solve. Her. He watched her as though he recognised something she had long forgotten. She mistook his attention for arrogance, his silence for indifference. She had no idea that, somewhere between their first meeting and the moments that followed, curiosity had begun to turn into something far more consuming. He had spent a lifetime learning how to control everything around him. He hadn't accounted for wanting one person he couldn't quite understand. And the more he tried to make sense of her, the harder it became to leave her alone. She thought this was a business deal. He knew better. Neither knew what had already begun,or what it would take from them.
